Delta_Saxophone_Quartet_2007_big1This 4 saxophonist was deliberately given a new concept, something fresh to the sound of This unique quartet of re arranges the songs hits from the legendary band, Soft Machine. A challenge for them and the result is a composition of 14 songs found in this album. More than just a nostalgic repertoire but rather to a form of representation of ‘what will happen ‘when the 2 British bands are met.

Begins with ‘Dedicated’, a perfect free improvisation composition taken from Hugh Hopper who played with a touch of elegance of world music which rarely produced the maximum through the saxophone. Followed by ‘Facelift’ property of the Soft Machine Third album. Plays minimalist with a unique concept. Harmonization in the elegy played ‘Everything is You’ with a classical composition of Bach with an emotional touch that played slowly and washed away. Track the most interesting to be listened to.

Overall this quartet was able to combine elements of jazz, Bach, Minimalist, Indonesia Pastoral Music, World Music and of course their main inspiration, Soft Machine. In this album, they supported by Kingston University, London, England. Where this album was made when they were recorded as the Ensemble at Kingston University.
