Java music is like an appetizing meal. All the ingredients to produce are simple but it mixes well with the sympathetic and full of vitality of this group with a touch of humor and a very precise sense. Intelligent lyrics, the atmosphere electric, the free bass accordion and a little wild strain, Java is able to update the genre of rap and “musette” (France folks’ music festival with accordion).
Java was founded in 1998 by two men from Paris: Fixi (composer, accordion, keyboards) and R. Wan (writer and vocal). In their work, Fixi using American rapper techniques with soul music, jazz and music pieces of a musette. While for the lyrics, R. Wan tries to create a single world in contrast to their surrounding environment, namely the city of Paris. Together, they produce songs that are a mixture of hip-hop music, accordion, musette, and modern instruments. They mix their music with ingredients of rock music, Rap, French songs, African music, electronic music, and so forth.
Bistrol Banti (drums) and Pepouseman (bass) joined later with the duo. Their first album «Hawaii» which was released in 2000 a huge success (selling more than 70,000 copies in France). Then they released a live recording of 2001 “Java sur Seine”, and their second album which most cultivated in Brazil “Croisière Safari”, launched in 2003. Java and then for six consecutive years doing hundreds of concerts, big festivals (Vieilles Charrues, Printemps de Bourges …) and several performances outside of France such as Australia, Brazil, China, and Spain. Java was also increasingly well known thanks to their stunning stage act. Java and then decided to leave their label, Sony.
In 2006, they decided to take a break and pioneered their respective careers, but they never cease to produce work. Then they joined the label Makasound which then produced two solo albums from R.wan (Radio Cortex 1 and 2). Banto Bistrol R.wan cooperated with this project. While Fixi, continued collaboration with Tony Allen, and issued an album «Paris rockin» the Jamaican singer, Winston Mc Anuff (a singer who is also under the labels Makasound).
This group and then add a member with K-Mille (producer and multi-instrumentalist) and toured Paris Rockin ‘Tour, which is a combination of three projects: Radio Cortex, Winston Mc Anuff and Java. In 2008, the Java re-entered the studio recordings produced by K-Mille and released the next album (arranged by Jean Lamoot): Français Maudit released April 2009, still under the label of Makasound.
