While in Berklee, Spalding studied with saxophonist Joe Lovano who then took the tour starting from New York to California.
After graduation in 2005, Berklee College of Music asked him to become a teacher and this makes Spalding became one of the youngest teachers in the history of this institution.
Spalding who now lives in New Jersey has released two albums Junjo (2006) and Esperanza (2008). The last album is directed into a reflection of life as artist, the musicians offered the option of serving the music. There is a combination of jazz fusion, Brazilian and hip-hop touch.
Outside the two albums with his own name, the Spalding also cooperates with several famous musicians and groups such as Fourplay, Stanley Clarke, Christian Scott, Donald Harrison, Joe Lovano, Nino Josele, Nando Michelin, and Theresa Perez.
Spalding was awarded a scholarship as an outstanding Musicianship award from the Boston Jazz Society (2005). She could sing in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
