henning-sieverts3Henning Sieverts was born in Berlin, 6th in 1966 and began playing the cello instruments at the age of 5 years. Learning improvisation with Prof. Eckle who read a story and illustrate a group of students through free improvisation when he was 8 years old.

He won a scholarship at the Berlin Conservatory from 1977 until 1984 and studied cello, piano, harmony, Counterpoint, and ear training. In 1983 and 1984 Henning won the First Prize in National Competition “Students Compose”.

He also studied journalism while continuing to play and create songs. One was collaboration with actress and singer, composed the music for the lyrics of Tucholsky, Mühsam, Scheerbart, and others to radio and theater production.

Members of the “Bundesjazzorchester” (National Jazz Orchestra) under the direct Peter Herbolzheimer also often won numerous awards such as the Music Award of the City of Munich (1990), Jazz Competition at the convention of the “International Society of Bassists” (1991), Music Award of Bavaria (1994), and the last New Germany Jazz Award and the New Germany Jazz Soloist Award (2007).
